| OaklandPolitics.com's mission is to foster a community of political observers and discussion about Oakland County Politics. In addition to encouraging "original news reporting", we also hope to build a grassroots community of activists and others interested in following politics.
Given that the organizers have political opinions and pre-dispositions, it should be no surprise that the project caters first to those interests and that an editorial style is accepted along with original news. Think of us as an Oakland County online newspaper combined with a place to meet, organize, and debate (within the norms of decency).
We hope this community includes a wide spectrum of participants from the center to the right, but unlike some of the other communities out there we will not censor based upon political content (although we will act upon conduct that is not civil). Even will our writers may have their own perspectives and biases, we encourage everyone to read and participate with open minds. |
